1 star – Slow service, not friendly, poor quality, no spice, not a good value, waited over 1 hour for our dishes I will never come here again. This was one of the most disappointing dining experiences I’ve had in a while. The food looked great, the color and presentation were on point but the flavor didn’t match at all. Everything was extremely bland with no spice, which is surprising for Indian cuisine. I ordered one of my go-to dishes, Gobi Manchurian, and I have no idea what came out to my table. It looked like a sloppy, soggy mess and tasted nothing like it should. Also, rice does not come with the dishes, which wasn’t made clear and adds up quickly. The service made things worse. It took over an hour for all of our food to come out, and our server had a very lackluster, uninterested attitude the entire time. If you’re going for the slot machines, full bar, and poor food then maybe this is your place, but that felt really out of place for an Indian restaurant and added to the overall odd experience. For $56, this was absolutely not worth it. Overall experience was terrible. Never again.

Walking into Viva Goa transported me straight back to growing up in Bombay, living alongside my Goan neighbors — the aromas, the flavors, the warmth. It was deeply personal and completely unexpected. Chef Johnny and Senal have created something truly special here. The Sorpotel, Pomfret Recheado, and Bombay Duck were nothing short of divine — authentic, fresh, and made with obvious love and craft. I genuinely had no words. If you care about real Goan cuisine — not a watered-down version, but the real thing — this is it. Please patronize and support these wonderful folks. Viva Goa is my permanent Houston home base from here on out.

We had an impeccable dining experience at Viva Goa. Highly recommend the Prawns Chilly Fry they came with a really savory spice and sautéed veggies. The Pomfret Fish was so flaky and flavorful and wow, their Jeera rice with Butter chicken was some of the best I’ve ever had. You must get their garlic Roti- perfect texture and softness with real grilled and crispy garlic. Don’t skip the lime soda, quite refreshing and definitely homemade. Save room for their dessert get the Chikoo ice cream and Ras Malai and thank me later!

We recently ate at Viva Goa Cuisine and hands down, it was absolutely amazing! We tried the prawns fry, promfret fry, Bombay duck fry, along with biryani and chicken coconut gravy. Every single dish was packed with authentic Goan flavors and so well prepared. The prawns fry and Bombay duck were definitely my favorites, perfectly seasoned, crispy, and full of that coastal spice that instantly reminded me of Goa. The chicken coconut gravy was rich and comforting, and the biryani complemented everything beautifully. It genuinely felt like a little trip back to Goa. The quality, taste, and portion size made it completely worth the cost. If you’re craving authentic Goan food, this place is definitely worth a try!

This is a long overdue review about an incredible restaurant worth visiting if you’re in Houston. My family and I were visiting Houston for a two day work trip. I happened to stumble upon Viva Goa while stuck in traffic and told my husband about it when I got to the hotel. Being Goan, he thought we should check it out. And we did. The food was absolutely delectable and so reasonable. It felt like a Goan grandmothers cooking made with so much love. We absolutely loved every dish that we tried and would give this place a 10/10 rating. We loved it so much that we came the following night for dinner and the afternoon before our departure. And finally we took tons of food in our cooler back home that we absolutely devoured in the days to come. We cant wait to visit Houston again and you best believe we will be eating here everyday. Viva Viva Goa team. You guys rock. Mog asu 💕
